Engineered to withstand daily wear and harsh environments throughout the device’s full operational lifetime.

Lifetime Protection for Your Identity Vault

Our biometric smartcard platform is built for real life — engineered for lifetime durability and secure operation under any condition. Every card protects its embedded computer from physical stress, ensuring your identity vault remains safe and operational.

Physical Integrity & Signal Protection

Our authentication computer card is far more than a traditional smartcard. It contains additional components — including a government grade biometric sub-system, energy-harvesting circuits and high-performance antenna coils — all within the length and width of a smartcard form factor.

Why Traditional Encapsulation Materials Fail

Most smartcards use either:

  • PVC / PET — low-cost, but bendable
  • Metal housings — rigid
  • Polycarbonate for high-end cards, e.g. driver license, national ID cards

Neither can meet the demands of a contactless advanced computer card.

A New Material Standard

In collaboration with advanced materials partners, the APPSCARD engineering teams have developed a specialized composite housing and precision lamination process that deliver:

  • Rigidity — shields the electronics from destructive bending
  • Extreme surface hardness — resists scratches and abrasion
  • Signal transparency — full compatibility with contactless readers
  • Long-term stability — consistent performance over years of use

Protection Against Attacks

Security is designed into every layer — from silicon to surface. Beyond digital encryption, the card’s encapsulation and surface treatment add further barriers to any physical or invasive attack.

  • Reinforced encapsulation resists forced entry and breakage
  • Tamper-resistant internal coatings lead to destruction when trying to physically and electrically access the critical components
  • Multi-layer protection ensures zero data exposure under stress

Carriers: Everyday Protection and Power

Smartcards are part of everyday life — carried in wallets, pockets, and lanyards worldwide. To match every usage scenario, the APPSCARD platform offers two precision-engineered carriers.

Standard Carrier

A rugged, ergonomic sleeve that protects both the card body and fingerprint sensor. Designed for card lifetime robust:

  • Daily pocket and wallet use
  • Professional lanyards
  • Secure mobility

Smart Carrier

Further building on the standard carrier, for field use or extended operation without reader access:

  • USB-C reader for direct digital access
  • Long-life battery for always-on operation
  • Automatic charging during storage

Stay connected and operational — anywhere, anytime. In the pre-charged condition, the AppsCard digital ID can operate on-approach and in environments with insufficient external power supply — e.g. communicating with an NFC phone or a battery-powered card reader.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is your card ISO-compliant?:
Yes, The AppsCard biometric card complies with ISO/IEC 17839 standard. It is compliant with the architecture, physical characteristics and logical interface of a BSoC. Notably, our card is compliant with ISO/IEC 17839-2 class D, because the integrated fingerprint sensor meets the specifications.:
Does the card have an ISO form factor?:
Yes. The APPSCARD biometric card complies with ISO/IEC 18328-2 ID-T, defined for advanced contactless cards. Since the intended operation of a biometric card is contactless only, we decided to not target ID-1 form factor as required for contact interface.:
Is the card compliant with torsion and bending tests or other physical robustness specifications?:
Torsion and bending as defined in ISO/IEC 10373-6 is only applicable for flexible cards. Our card is rigid and complies with the robustness specified for ID-T format in ISO/IEC 18328-2.:
